“Jennifer Lawrence’s Breakout Roles: Unveiling the Iconic Characters That Catapulted Her to Fame”

From a potential young actress, the 9x beauty rose to the ranks of A-list stars with roles in “X-Men” or “Silver Linings Playbook” – the film that brought her the Oscar gold statue.

1. Mariana (film “The Burning Plain”)

In The Burning Plain (2008), Jennifer Lawrence played the teenage girl – Mariana, before ceding the role of adult Mariana to her senior Charlize Theron. After witnessing her mother having secret sex with a married man, Mariana decided to intervene. However, the attempt to end that relationship ended in a horrific way that changed Mariana’s life forever.

The Burning Plain project gave Lawrence the opportunity to collaborate with her two seniors, Kim Basinger and Charlize Theron, and also helped her show her inner acting ability rarely seen in an actress under 18 years old. For her role as Mariana, Lawrence was awarded the “Marcello Mastroianni” award for “Promising Actress” at the 2008 Venice Film Festival.

2. Ree Dolly (film “Winter’s Bone”)

In every article about Jennifer Lawrence’s career, Winter’s Bone (2010) is always considered the breakthrough of the talented actress born in 1990. She is considered the soul of the film, to the point that The New Yorker commented: “It’s hard to imagine any other actress playing Ree.” Veteran writer Peter Travers also commented on Lawrence’s ability to express emotions with her eyes: “Her performance is more than acting. Those eyes are like a map leading to Ree’s broken soul.”

3. Mystique (“X-Men” series)

After roles in independent films, Jennifer Lawrence began participating in blockbuster films with X-Men: First Class (2011). In the work about the youth of mutants, she took on the role of Mystique, which was closely associated with the name of senior Rebecca Romijin. In First Class , the character Mystique is somewhat blurred before the roles of Professor X (James McAvoy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender). But in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), Mystique became the central character.

Jennifer Lawrence’s character is the most important pawn in the unintended war between the US government and mutants. In Days of Future Past , Lawrence has many action scenes and also has a Vietnamese speaking scene. The total revenue of the two X-Men parts she participated in was more than 1.1 billion USD. In summer 2016, Jennifer Lawrence will reappear with Mystique in X-Men: Apocalypse .

Fate brought her to meet Pat (Bradley Cooper) – an equally “crazy” guy due to his wife’s betrayal. Two lost people brought peace and love to each other in the most unusual ways.

With Tiffany, Jennifer Lawrence had the space to express all kinds of expressions: anger, happiness, seduction, madness and humor. Her acting makes the audience feel that behind that strong and careless exterior, Tiffany is still a fragile girl who needs to be loved and protected. Lawrence’s most impressive acting scene in the film was when she surprised Pat and the whole family with her knowledge of sports. Because of her feelings for Pat, Tiffany diligently researched to learn about rugby.

5. Rosalyn Rosenfeld (film “American Hustle”)

The character Rosalyn is a woman with a complex interior, making it difficult for viewers to predict what is going on in her mind. The scene that left the most impression on Lawrence was when she interacted with her husband’s lover (played by Amy Adams) in the bathroom before giving this person a stunned kiss.

6. Katniss Everdeen (“The Hunger Games” series)

If in the X-Men film series , Jennifer Lawrence is just part of the star cast, then in The Hunger Games series , she is the brightest star – an iconic “mockingjay”.
